Where is the Mercy Health – Anderson Hospital Family and Community Medicine Residency Program located?
We are located at 8000 Five Mile Road, Suite 100, Cincinnati, Ohio 45255.
How are resident supervised in the Family Medicine Practice (FMP)?
PGY-1 residents require direct supervision from an attending physician for patient encounters. As residents transition into their PGY-2 and PGY-3 years, gradual autonomy and responsibility in decision-making is given to residents depending on the visit type.
How many patient do residents see per half-day in the FMP?
PGY-1 residents, in their first six months of residency, see four patients per half day. During the second six months of PGY-1 year, residents see six patient per half day. From the PGY-2 year, residents will see eight patients per half day. Eventually, in PGY-3 year, resident will see up to 10 patients per half day.
Do residents help with teaching of medical students?
Medical education is an integral part of our residency program. PGY-1 residents in the second half of their first year can begin to help with teaching medical students; however, medical students will usually work with PGY-2 and PGY-3 residents.

Where do most residents live around Cincinnati?
Several of our residents choose to live within close proximity to the hospital in Anderson Township. Other residents choose to live within the downtown vicinity, in areas like Over-the-Rhine (OTR), The Banks or Hyde Park. Cincinnati is a relatively affordable city to live, making renting or purchasing property easily accessible to residents.
