Welcome from the Program Director

Welcome to our new family medicine residency program. We are thrilled to have you join us at the start of this exciting journey. With six years of experience in graduate medical education, I am eager to apply my knowledge and insights to create a rich and supportive learning environment tailored to your growth. Our program is designed to establish a strong foundation in family medicine while offering personalized opportunities to explore and develop your specific areas of interest as you progress in your medical career.

Our program emphasizes high-quality, community-based ambulatory care, engaging patients in enhancing their health knowledge and integrating it into their daily lives. We believe that a strong focus on the unique needs of the communities we serve is the cornerstone of excellent primary care. Our commitment to the broader community will guide the services we provide, ensuring we meet the specific goals of our patients.

As a new residency program, we offer a wealth of opportunities for you to help shape your future and the learning environment. We seek trailblazers who are eager for leadership roles. Through self-directed learning and increasing autonomy, you will become proficient and fully prepared to excel as a family physician.

Our residency program will feature a new continuity clinic, specifically designed for your training. Here, you will spend the majority of your residency providing high-quality care to your patient panel and collaborating closely with your care teams. This clinic will lay the foundation for your experience as a family physician, equipping you with the skills needed to confidently transition from residency to your medical career.  The continuity clinic will offer comprehensive opportunities to manage acute, chronic, and preventive care, as well as hands-on experience with various procedures, including skin biopsies, joint injections, nail removals, and cryotherapy.

Mercy Health Fairfield is an ideal setting for learning, with its 211-bed, community-based hospital offering a wide range of specialties and ample educational opportunities. As a cornerstone of the Butler County community, the hospital excels in areas such as heart failure management, orthopedics, and stroke care, among other quality measures.  Our staff is excited to welcome new medical residents and is eager to support you throughout your training.

We wish you success in your family medicine residency journey and look forward to being a part of your experience.
