Rotations and Curriculum — Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency in Cincinnati

Curriculum

The curriculum incorporates a vast experience that will suite all learning types and will more than prepare the resident to sit for orthopedic board certification exam. A general overview of the content includes:

  • Minimum of 1,500 clinical hours of patient care in an orthopedic setting
  • Minimum of 150 mentor hours (minimum of 100 where the resident is the treating therapist)
  • Multimodal didactic education material
  • Completion of Orthopedic Manual Therapy Course Series with the ability to sit for certification
  • Dry needling parts one and two
  • Advances on the knee and shoulder – Hilton Head
  • APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor course
  • Monthly journal club series
  • Mercy Health teaching conferences 
  • In-house con-ed courses that changes on a yearly basis
  • More than 450 hours of educational content available to residents
