Meet the Director and Team — Podiatry Residency at The Jewish Hospital

Welcome to The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health Podiatric Surgery Program. Our three-year CPME accredited program offers you the opportunity to experience the full scope of podiatric surgical experiences, from wound care and general elective surgery to total ankle arthroplasty and Illizarov frame application techniques.  Our service covers several institutions in the Mercy system as well as a wound care clinic, surgery centers and private practitioner’s offices.  This diverse program is proudly comprised of highly-dedicated and experienced faculty devoted to exposing those that rotate and train at our institution to all the different facets of Podiatric medicine.  You will find our program to be a friendly and professional atmosphere that enables and encourages you to seek and acquire the knowledge, clinical acumen and technical skills necessary to practice as a confident and independent surgeon.

It is your responsibility as a resident in this program to be self-directed and strongly committed to the acquisition of the knowledge and skills that are the hallmark of an outstanding podiatric surgeon.  To aid in this goal, we have a regimented didactic tract involving the various attending physicians including journal clubs, radiology conferences and medical equipment representative based programs to further advance your training in and out of the OR.

The Department of Podiatric Surgery prides itself in continuing the tradition of graduating podiatric surgeons who are exceptional practitioners that will not only be respected by their peers and patients, but contribute and advance the podiatric profession as a whole. I hope you find the information here helpful in making your Podiatric Surgery Residency program selection.
