The innovative Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Mercy Health - St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital offers a diverse, fast-paced resident experience. Part of Mercy Health - St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital is the newest addition to the not-for-profit organization. Built in 2007, the emergency department has 30 beds with 49,000 annual emergency department visits.
Rotations include 9 months of Emergency Medicine based at Mercy Health - St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital. Additional Emergency Medicine rotations are scheduled at our system's nearby hospitals, including Mercy Health - St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center and Mercy Health - St. Joseph Warren Hospital, a Level 3 Trauma Center. Pediatric Emergency Medicine rotations are scheduled at Akron Children's Hospital, Mahoning Valley Campus and a Pediatric Intensive Care rotation is scheduled at Mercy Health - St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.
The Mercy Health — St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency program is under Continuing Accreditation from the ACGME. Under ACGME accreditation, our 3-year program will accept nine residents annually.
