Mercy Health Invites Cancer Survivors to Attend a Very Special Party on Thursday, May 1

(CINCINNATI; April 22, 2014) – Mercy Health, which provides advanced, compassionate, quality care in your neighborhood through its care network, invites cancer survivors and their families to attend a very special party that Mercy Health and the American Cancer Society are hosting in their honor.

The party takes place from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 1 in the community auditorium at Mercy Health – West Hospital, located at 3300 Mercy Health Blvd., Cincinnati 45211. Mercy Health will provide complimentary light refreshments and each attending survivor will receive a gift.

Guest speakers from Mercy Health and the Society will announce their partnership in the fight against cancer and cancer survivors will share their stories of hope and inspiration during this celebratory evening.

The party is the kickoff to a series of American Cancer Society Relay For Life® events that Mercy Health and the Society are putting on in May and June to raise funds for the continuing fight against cancer.

On the West Side of Cincinnati, a team from Mercy Health – West Hospital will join other teams walking and running to raise funds at a Relay For Life event taking place Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7 at College of Mount St. Joseph. Relay For Life is an organized, overnight community fundraising walk. Teams of people camp out around a track and members of each team take turns walking around the track to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much. A wide array of food, games and activities provide entertainment and build camaraderie, making the Society’s Relay For Life a family-friendly event for the entire community.
