Mercy Health - Western Hills HealthPlex Trainer Hosts Indoor Cycle Challenge as Part of Fundraising Effort for Girls on the Run

(CINCINNATI; December 11, 2014) – Mercy Health - Cincinnati, which provides advanced, quality, compassionate care in your neighborhood through its care network, announces that Jessica Leonard is hosting a five-hour indoor cycle challenge at the Mercy Health – Western Hills HealthPlex from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 14 to benefit Girls on the Run of Cincinnati. The Western Hills HealthPlex is located at 3131 Queen City Ave. in Cincinnati, ZIP 45238.

Over 100 people have registered to participate.

Leonard, a Personal Trainer at the Western Hills HealthPlex, set herself the goal of raising $100,000 for Girls on the Run of Cincinnati by the end of January. The Indoor Cycle Challenge should take her past the halfway mark.

For a $20/hour donation (or $150/team) to Girls on the Run, participants in the indoor cycle event will challenge themselves as individuals or part of team to complete a five-hour cycle. Leonard herself will be taking part. Proceeds benefit Girls on the Run, a 12-week program that helps girls in 3rd through 8th grade develop and improve their competence, confidence, character, care and compassion before concluding their experience with a 5k run.

“I am raising money for Girls on the Run of Cincinnati because every young girl deserves to learn healthy living and self-respect. The success and confidence they feel after completing their first 5K is irreplaceable,” says Leonard.

While the spin bikes for Sunday’s event are fully booked, you can still register with your own bike and indoor trainer.
