Mercy Health Performing Arts Medicine Location Downtown offers Specialized Care for Performing Artists

(CINCINNATI; May 3, 2016) – Mercy Health – Cincinnati, which provides advanced, quality, compassionate care in your neighborhood through its care network, announces that it offers performing arts medicine tailored specifically for performing artists on site at the Cincinnati Ballet downtown at 1555 Central Parkway, ZIP 45214.

“This location is convenient to performing artists with the Cincinnati Symphony, Ensemble Theatre and Playhouse in the Park, for example, who work or live downtown or close to downtown,” says Jacqui Haas, Supervisor, Performing Arts Medicine for Mercy Health.

Performing Arts Medicine is the specialized assessment and management of the injuries that performing artists endure. The program is committed to treatment and wellness of performing artists.

“The demands of a job in the performing arts can lead to physical challenges. Musicians often perform in awkward body positions while dancers routinely perform moves that require both strength and an extreme range of motion. Losing rehearsal or performance time due to injury is financially and emotionally challenging,” says Haas.
