Katy Maag, RN, cardiopulmonary rehab, receives Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional accreditation
(Lima, May 22, 2015) Katy Maag, RN, cardiopulmonary rehab, received her Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (CCRP) accreditation on March 18, 2015 through the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). Katy is the first and only St. Rita’s employee to receive this certification. Katy said this certification has been a personal goal of hers for many years, and now that she has achieved it, she is working to achieve her next goal a bachelor’s degree from Ohio Northern University.
Adding to Katy’s recent accomplishments, she is serving on a national committee for AACVPR. As a member of the Health and Public Policy Committee for the 2014-2016 term, Katy assists in the facilitation of appropriate advocacy for cardiac, pulmonary and relations prevention services in both the public and the private sector. This network of professionals monitors the activities of and exchanges information with those involved in making decisions about public funding for healthcare at the national and state levels.
Furthermore, at the state level for AACVPR, Katy was recently appointed the Northwest Ohio representative. In this position, she is responsible for planning and organizing a number of cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation-related seminars and collaborating with other AACVPR-certified hospitals in the region to advance the mission and educational efforts of the national AACVPR organization.
