Cardiac Catheterization

If your physician feels that you may have coronary artery disease, it may be recommended you have a cardiac catheterization. This is a procedure which allows the cardiologist to measure the pressures in the heart, visualize the arteries surrounding it and identify any blockages and their severity through a tube in the groin or wrist.

Each cath lab at Springfield Regional Medical Center's Comprehensive Heart Care Program is equipped with a sophisticated camera system which produce high quality, large images for improved diagnostic capabilities.
