Randall King, MD, FACEP | Program Director

Medical School: University of Toledo College of Medicine
Residency: Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center

Dr. King has been the program director since 1991 creating a culture of excellence in education. Dr. King is past chief of staff at St. Vincent Medical Center and current chief medical information officer. 

Alexander Dzurik, MD, FACEP, FAAEM | Associate Program Director

Medical School: University of Toledo College of Medicine
Residency: Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center

Dr. Dzurik joined the faculty in 2017 immediately after completing his residency, stepping into simulation faculty and shortly thereafter assuming role of simulation director. His academic interests include critical medical resuscitation, ACLS/PALS, crash airway management, procedural education and ED documentation. He also remains a certified flight physician working with LifeFlight/Mobile Life.

 

Aileen Newmyer, MD | Assistant Program Director

Medical School: Wake Forest University School of Medicine
Residency: Henry Ford Hospital – Wayne State University

Dr. Newmyer joined the faculty in 2018 with a special interest in simulation and resident education. She likes to challenge the residents in the simulation lab with scenarios that they may not see often in the emergency department but should be prepared to handle. As an associate program director, she has focused on improving real-time feedback for residents and faculty.

 

Courtney Keel, MD | Assistant Program Director

Medical School: Ross University School of Medicine
Residency: Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center

Dr. Keel joined as a community faculty member at Mercy Health – St. Charles Hospital in 2019. She then transitioned to St. Vincent’s starting in 2020 and now works as one of our nocturnists. She served as the ultrasound director from 2021 to 2023 and joined as an assistant program director in 2022. One of her main interests is wilderness medicine and took over as Midwest MedWAR director in 2021. Her other main areas of interest include resident evaluations and feedback, simulation, creating new and innovative procedural models and improving quality review of ultrasound images.
