Mercy Health Appoints Peter Owendoff President of the Mercy Health Foundation

(CINCINNATI; January 22, 2014) – Mercy Health, which provides quality care with compassion in your neighborhood through its network of care, announces that it has appointed Peter Owendoff President of the Mercy Health Foundation. Owendoff assumed his role on January 21st and is responsible for raising and directing funds toward advancing and improving healthcare at Mercy Health.

“Peter has a proven track record in fundraising, capital giving, planned giving and strategic capital campaigns. His expertise will help the Mercy Health Foundation raise funds that support Mercy Health’s mission to extend the healing ministry of Jesus by improving the health of our communities with an emphasis on people who are poor and under-served,” said Yousuf J. Ahmad, Mercy Health Market President and CEO.

Owendoff comes to the Mercy Health Foundation from Cincinnati’s Xavier University, where he served as Executive Director of Major Gifts since 2005. He managed the major gifts team that helped raise over $200 million dollars towards Xavier’s To See Great Wonders Capital Campaign. He also managed key solicitations for the University President and Vice President for University Relations. 

Previously, he served as Xavier University’s Regional Director for Development from 1998-2005 with responsibility for the southern region of the United States. He has also held a marketing and sales position supporting Xavier with The Superlative Group in Cleveland.

Owendoff earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Xavier University. He lives in the Indian Springs neighborhood in Sharonville with his wife, Lisa, who is originally from Blue Ash.
