Becker's Hospital Review Names Mercy Health - Clermont and Fairfield Hospitals to its 2016 List of 100 Great Community Hospitals

(CINCINNATI; June 20, 2016) – Mercy Health - Cincinnati, which provides advanced, quality, compassionate care in your neighborhood through its care network, announces that Becker’s Hospital Review has named Clermont and Fairfield hospitals to its 2016 list of 100 Great Community Hospitals. They were the only two Cincinnati-area hospitals to make the list.

“We are proud that Fairfield Hospital is a community hospital that provides access to great healthcare at a location convenient for our patients and their family and friends. Making Becker’s list of 100 Great Community Hospitals validates our work and our approach,” said Thomas Urban, North Market President and CEO.

“Helping our community be well is at the heart of everything we do at Clermont Hospital. Having Becker’s Hospital Review recognize our team’s hard work and dedication to patient care means a great deal to our talented and caring physicians, nurses and staff,” said Jeff Graham, Mercy Health East Market President and CEO.

The Becker's editorial team selected hospitals for inclusion based on rankings and awards from organizations including iVantage Health Analytics, Truven Health Analytics, Healthgrades, CareChex, the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the Leapfrog Group. Hospitals on the list have earned recognition from one or more of these organizations.

Becker's has published a version of this list annually since 2011. This is the fifth year the list has included 100 hospitals. For the purposes of this list, Becker's defines a "community hospital" as one with fewer than 550 beds that have minimal teaching programs.

The hospitals on this list are spread across the country, some not far from major metro areas and some in rural communities. Regardless of location or whether they are affiliated with a major system, these hospitals are vital parts of their respective communities.
