Mercy Health Physicians - Cincinnati Names Amanda Rumpke Director of Advanced Practice Practitioners

(CINCINNATI; March 29, 2016) – Mercy Health Physicians - Cincinnati has named Amanda Rumpke, MSN, ACNP, RN, CCRN, director of advanced practice providers (APPs).

“This new position enhances the integration of our advanced practice providers into our primary care and specialist medical practices,” said Randy Curnow, MD, President, Mercy Health Physicians, Cincinnati and Springfield. “Our goal is to continue to build an environment where APPs want to work, while supporting the APP role among the entire collaborative care team and enhancing the care we provide to our patients. Appointing Amanda as APP Director will help us achieve our aims.”

APPs include both Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. APPs collaborate with physicians as a part of the care team and have formal training in examining patients, diagnosing injuries and illness as well as providing treatments. Increasingly, APPs help meet growing demand for primary and specialty healthcare practitioners and also provide many preventive care services.

As APP Director, Rumpke will work with Mercy Health Physicians – Cincinnati’s APPs and service line medical directors and executive directors to support care delivery. Her responsibilities include helping facilitate APP communication, integration and alignment within Mercy Health Physician – Cincinnati practices. She will also provide vital leadership for recruiting, support practice improvement and incorporate APP state and national regulations into practice.

Rumpke holds an Associate Degree in nursing from Miami University. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati. She is also a certified Critical Care Registered Nurse and an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Rumpke is married with two children and resides in Liberty Township.
