St. Rita's supports STEM education at Ohio State Lima event

On March 6, Nicole Nelson, MD, Medical Director for the Radiology Department at St. Rita's Medical Center, was the keynote speaker at the first STEM STEPS event held at The Ohio State University at Lima. Approximately 50 young women were selected by area schools to attend the full-day event. STEM education is an interdisciplinary and applied approach to teaching science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Dr. Nelson, who is trained in both neuroradiology and cardiac imagery, was joined by faculty members in discussing women's roles in STEM fields and providing hands-on activities to build their understanding and self-confidence related to these fields of study.
