Mercy Health Hosts Weekly Friday Farmers' Market from 3-6 p.m.

(CINCINNATI; June 14, 2016) - Mercy Health - Cincinnati, which provides advanced, compassionate, quality care in your neighborhood through its care network, will host a weekly farmer’s market at its Bond Hill home office every Friday from 3-6 p.m. The events are open to the public.

The first farmers’ market will take place June 24 and event will continue weekly on Friday through October 21 on the great lawn at the office, which is located at the former Showcase Cinemas site off the Reading Road exit from the Norwood Lateral at 1701 Mercy Health Place, Cincinnati 45237.

“Fresh foods, including fruits, vegetables and healthy grains, play an important role in good health. However, easy access to healthy foods can be a struggle for residents of Bond Hill, Roselawn and nearby communities,” said Sr. Cheryl Erb, Mercy Health – Cincinnati Vice President of Mission Integration. “That was the inspiration for our Friday Farmers’ Markets, which will bring affordable, fresh and good quality local fruits, vegetables, breads and other foods to our neighbors for purchase just in time for the weekend.”

The weekly Mercy Health Friday Farmers’ Market will include:
• a pop-up market from Findlay Market featuring five or six of the market’s different vendors on a rotating basis (accepts Produce Perks and SNAP)
• fresh breads from Crackling Crust Microbakery
• fresh produce, soups, sauces and jams from the Organic Farm at Bear Creek
• fruit bread from Nay Nay’s, a Findlay Market staple
• Our Harvest food co-op offering a way to pre-order online a weekly box of fresh picked produce from a local farm
• doctors available to provide health information
• health screenings
• food and fitness demonstrations from Mercy Health experts
