The Jewish Hospital - Mercy Health Continues its Speaker Series at the Mayerson JCC on Thursday, October 27, with a Discussion on Breast Cancer; Mercy Health Mobile Mammography will be on Site

Mercy Health - Cincinnati, which provides advanced, quality, compassionate care in your neighborhood through its care network, announces that The Jewish Hospital - Mercy Health's speaker series continues at the Mayerson JCC on Thursday, October 27, with a discussion on breast cancer. The Mayerson JCC is located at 8485 Ridge Road, Cincinnati 45236.

Join us for wine, appetizers and a relaxed and interactive talk that will give you a better understanding of breast cancer detection. Breast cancer affects thousands of individuals (mostly women) and their families each year. Members of the Jewish community with Ashkenazi lineage have an increased risk of genetic, predisposed breast cancer. Early detection of breast cancer increases the chance of survival by up to 40 percent.

Mercy Health breast surgeon, surgical oncologist and Medical Director of Breast Surgery Hilary Shapiro-Wright, DO, will lead the presentation and Q&A.

The Mercy Health - Mobile Health Mammography Unit will be on site before the event from 3-5:30 p.m. for mammograms and education on breast self-examination. Most insurance carriers cover this screening but you should verify that Mercy Health and The Jewish Hospital are in-network providers with your insurance carrier. For more information prior to receiving a mammogram from Mercy Health, please call 513-686-3300.

The discussion with Dr. Shapiro-Wright begins at 5:30 p.m. with appetizers and wine, followed by the program, which runs from 6-7 p.m. The event is free but space is limited. Please make a reservation (required) by October 20 to reserve your spot by visiting https://www.mayersonjcc.org/senior-center/jewishmercyspeakerseries/ Look for details at mayersonjcc.org or for more information, please call 513-792-5654.
