Mercy to sponsor Glass City Marathon, renamed Mercy Health Glass City Marathon

Toledo, OH - To further our mission to help improve the health and wellness of our community, Mercy and the Glass City Marathon organizing committee officially announced  Mercy as the title sponsor of the marathon.
In its 40th year, the Mercy Health Glass City Marathonbrings runners from across the globe to Toledo to participate in the annual event. Last year’s marathon consisted of more than 8,250 runners and raised more than $50,000 to help local charities.
“We are pleased to partner with the Toledo Roadrunners and the marathon organizing committee on this event. We’re committed to partnership opportunities, like this one, that allow the community to engage in their health and have confidence to take the steps necessary to improve their overall well-being – mind, body and spirit,” said Imran Andrabi, MD, president and CEO of Mercy.
As title sponsor, the Mercy Health name and logo will be featured prominently on course signage and mile markers, finisher medals, race t-shirts, bibs, start and finish line inflatable, as well as, other promotional items. Mercy Sports Medicine physicians, athletic trainers and Mercy nurses will provide the medical services required by the field of runners. In addition, there will be training preparation opportunities for those interesting in joining the 2016 races that will feature Mercy experts.
Additionally, Mercy Children’s Hospital will be one of the official charitable organizations set to benefit from funds raised.
The 2016 Mercy Health Glass City Marathon is a family event offering multiple runs to fit every level of participant including a Marathon, the Owens Corning Half Marathon, 5-Person Marathon Relay, 5K and the Findley Davies Kid’s Marathon. The Mercy Health Glass City Marathon continues to grow as a signature event for the region as well as acting as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.
