Top Chicken Sponsor The Jewish Hospital - Mercy Health and Sodexo Partner to Enter the 12th Annual Cincinnati Chicken Soup Cook-Off on Sunday, January 31

(CINCINNATI; January 26, 2016) – The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health and its food service provider Sodexo have partnered to enter Cincinnati’s famous Chicken Soup Cook-Off, which runs from 12:15-2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 31 at the Issac M. Wise Center, located at 8329 Ridge Road in Cincinnati, ZIP 45246.

For the second year running, The Jewish Hospital is the Top Chicken sponsor of this fun and popular community event, which, from its beginning in 2003, has been a huge success and a highly anticipated date on the culinary calendar.

Organized by the Wise Temple, the Chicken Soup Cook-Off brings together professional and amateur cooks. Judges name winners in the professional category and a hungry community of tasters bestow the coveted People’s Choice Award. Last year, The Jewish Hospital took second place in the professional category and Pat Davis-Hagens, Mercy Health Central Market President and CEO of The Jewish Hospital, is serving as one of this year’s judges.

Restauranteurs and regular people have cooked hundreds of gallons of chicken soup and each entrant produces extra soup that is donated to the Over-the-Rhine Soup Kitchen. The event also includes a silent auction, door prizes, “Kid’s Coop,” live music and more.

Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for children and family admission (any size) is $16.

Proceeds from the event have enabled the Wise Temple Brotherhood to provide services to Wise Temple and the community.
